So. Today might have been the worst I've ever had...

Alarm clock does not go off.

Slept in. Wake up late.

Run for shower. Mother flushes. Scalding pain.

Run for bus. Miss bus. Wait for half an hour for next bus.

Late for class. Teacher not pleased.

Realize in my haste that I forgot my homework. Teacher even less pleased.

Rummage through school cupboard and settle for the most masculine thing I could find in the prop section: Barbie doll.

Set up tripod. Attach camera to tripod. Walk away to fetch lens from bag. Hear monstrous crash. TURN TO FIND CAMERA DESTROYED ON GROUND!

The screw that goes into the bottom of the camera to attach it to the tripod had snapped in two for no apparent reason which sent the camera for a glorious 5 1/2 foot drop to the concrete floor below. Inspected the camera only to find that the entire back panel had broken off along with the battery compartment thingy and cracks all over... Managed to take a picture but I couldn't view the playback menu so I wasn't able to change the ISO or Color Balance or file type of anything.

Devastated is probably the right word to summarize the experience. I picked up the various pieces and put them in my bag and chatted with the teacher, discussed what I was going to do then headed for home in a glorious haze.

Arrived home, told the parents the news and much cursing ensued.

Long story short, I have a new Nikon D80 to replace my beloved deceased Nikon D70s... Looks like a snazzy camera but its tainted under the circumstances of its purchase to me so far

So... Now I have to find a job to pay my parents back for the loan. Needed this like a hole in the head. -_-
